The project

Vasto.guide is much more than an audio guide: it’s a tool for discovering, experiencing, and understanding the city of Vasto in a new, free, and personal way. It was created with an ambitious goal: to transform the historic center into an open-air museum, where every corner tells a story and every walk becomes a journey through time. The content, an original work by writer Lissandro del Vasto, has been translated, enhanced with sound design, and geolocated to offer an immersive and accessible experience. The result is an innovative tool: a free audio guide, accessible from any device and with no need to install an app, available at www.vasto.guide.

A guide designed for everyone

Whether you’re a visitor exploring the city, a curious local, or a student looking for inspiration, Vasto.guide accompanies you in discovering the local heritage with over 280 audio contributions, available in Italian, English, and French, enriched with carefully selected images and organized into…:

  • Geographic routes, to explore the city’s historic neighborhoods

  • Historical routes, to travel through the eras that have shaped Vasto

  • Thematic routes, to follow the threads of faith, art, memory, and architecture

Each piece of content can be listened to individually or as part of one of the 20 itineraries, each lasting 90–120 minutes. You can listen while you walk, search by keyword, or let your current location guide you, thanks to the geolocation feature.

A new way to experience the city

Vasto.guide is designed to promote slow, mindful tourism—an invitation to observe closely, to discover connections between past and present, and to rediscover the cultural value of even the most familiar places. Thanks to the free printed map—available at information points, accommodations, and main local businesses—you can easily find your way and access content via QR codes. But above all, Vasto.guide is a project in constant evolution: a living guide, created to grow, to welcome new voices and new stories, and to become a key reference point for the cultural and touristic development of the entire region.
